Continental Drift Theory
Wegener proposed that all continents were once joined in a supercontinent called Pangaea and have since drifted apart. Though initially dismissed, his theory explained why similar fossils and rock formations appear on different continents. Continental drift evolved into plate tectonics, explaining earthquakes, volcanoes, and mountain formation, revolutionizing our understanding of Earth's dynamic surface.
